Did you make any resolutions for 2013? Statistic’s from the University of Scranton, Journal of Clinical Psychology states that only 71% of people stick with their goals after the first two weeks. That’s kind of depressing, but explains why I keep vowing to lose the same ten pounds every year.
As an author, I do make goals every year to help keep me focused and motivated. This year if I stick to my goal, I will have the first draft of my screenplay finished by February 28th, 2013. The key is to make the resolution or goal specific, realistic, known, measurable, fun and rewarding.
If you made resolutions or goals I hope you’re still in the 71%, because only 46% of people make it past six months. I won’t wish you luck, but will remind you of the saying that states; If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Here are the top ten goals according to the university study:
